The MSc (GISc) programme content is organized in modular structure (picture below).

For Elective Subjects I chosse several online lifelong learning courses from ESRI Virtual Campus and three Optional Modules. The all elective modules are in English. I have successfully and on time finished all required assignments for all modules and courses. With final grades I’m more than satisfied. Some basic information, as well as my impressions about optional modules can be found below.
EuroGIS

EuroGIS module deals with the European aspects of GIS and geographical information and ways to provide access to it. This module was very interesting and useful to me becouse a few years ago Croatia becomes a candidate for EU Membership. Instructor for this module dr. Markus Eisl find very interesting, in the parth Crossing Borders, example of the mine situation geoportal between Croatia and Bosnia (practical example of the potential of remote sensing data for mine field area reduction).
Photogrammetry

This module was very hard, but also very interesting, useful and this module covered huge spectrum of themes: airphoto interpretation, aerial photographs, the geomety of the stereo model, aerotriangulation… I really spent a lot of time to solve the required assignments.
For the completion of this module you will need an excellent and powerful software – Leica Photogrammetry Suite (LPS) software with a free 52-week licence from UNIGIS@Salzburg.
Analysis methods using SAGA

SAGA GIS is one of the most interesting open source GIS projects. The software provides a lot of analysis tools which you will not find in any other software package (for example morphometric or hydrologic analysis). I was used SAGA for my master thesis work, e.g. for the preliminary data processing, extracting the study area, unsupervised and supervised classification and producing change detection maps…
More information about the program will be available on my web pages.
